I was honoured to write Fred's obituary for the Guardian. Though much was taken from the family obituary in the Herald, I wanted to speak for those who knew Fred through his work and connection with Children's Hearings. For us he was an inspirational figure. He was much loved by many beyond the reaches of the family. I personally am left with a sense of irreplaceable loss.
